Savings Account Regulation D
Like all U.S. financial institutions, the U of I Community Credit Union complies with Regulation D, the U.S. Government’s regulation limiting transfers and withdrawals from member’s share savings accounts.
Per Regulation D – Members are limited to six (6) transfers and withdrawals per calendar month from any share savings account (including Club Accounts and Illini Draft Money Market), to any other account or third party. After reaching the limit of six (6) transfers or withdrawals, subsequent transactions will be denied.
Please note that certain transaction types are limited to no more than three (3) of the six (6) transfers/withdrawals per month from your savings account. This includes drafts written to a third party and applies to transactions executed with an ATM/Debit card as well as other types of electronic transactions.

Regulation D does not apply to Loyalty Checking, iChecking, Share Draft, Campus Checking, Illini Advantage, or Illini Advantage PLUS checking accounts.
Affected Share Savings Transactions
Up to six (6) withdrawals or transfers permitted per calendar month – but no more than three (3) of the six (6) can be by share draft, check, debit card, or similar payment vehicle payable to a third party – when:
- Made for transfer to the member’s other account(s) at the credit union or to a third party and initiated by preauthorized, automatic, or bill-payment arrangement (including ACH, EFT, and transfers to cover overdrafts)
- Made to another account of the member at the credit union and initiated by telephone, fax, or personal computer (PC)
- Transfers made through home banking
- Made payable to a third party and initiated by messenger, telephone, fax, or PC
- Initiated by fax
Unlimited withdrawals permitted when:
- Made in person at the credit union
- Made by messenger
- Made by a mailed letter request
- Made by a check payable to the accountholder, mailed to the accountholder and initiated by telephone, fax, or PC
- Made using an ATM
Unlimited transfers permitted when:
- Made between the accounts of the same member AND made in person, by messenger, by mail, or at an ATM
- Made by the member to pay a loan the member has with the credit union

ONLINE STATEMENT ACCESS AGREEMENT
TRANSMITTAL OF ELECTRONIC STATEMENTS
By signing the “Request For Electronic Statement Delivery” you elect to receive your statements
electronically in the manner set forth by the University of Illinois Community Credit Union e-statement Procedures in question and answer format. You agree to accept your University of Illinois Community Credit Union periodic statements, and all disclosures related to your statements, electronically by a visual text to be displayed on a personal computer monitor. You request that the credit union transmit your statement to you electronically, and you agree to the terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement.
You acknowledge that you will be able to retrieve your statements electronically through the use
of a personal identification number (PIN) which you will choose on your first log in. You acknowledge that, if you disclose your PIN to anyone else or if your PIN is lost or stolen, third parties may be able to access your credit union statements. You agree that the credit union will not be liable for any loss caused by the authorized or unauthorized use of your PIN by any third party to access your statements. You agree to keep your PIN in a place of safekeeping, and you agree that the security of your PIN will be your responsibility at all times. You agree to the security methods and techniques set out in the agreement. You agree that the credit union will not be liable for any loss arising out of your use of e-statement if the credit union observes the security methods presently set out in the agreement, or as amended from time to time. Further, you agree that the credit union will not be liable for any loss arising out of your use of e-statement under any circumstances if you fail to observe the security methods and the recommendations set forth in the procedures. You agree that it will be your responsibility to read current newsletters located within your e-statement layout.
You acknowledge and agree that, by requesting electronic statement delivery, you will not receive paper statements. You acknowledge and agree that, if the credit union in its judgment believes that the transmission of your statements electronically is no longer viable, or that any such transmission may give rise to security or operational concerns, the credit union may cease the electronic delivery of your statements and provide you with paper statements in lieu thereof. You acknowledge and agree that you have read and you understand the security procedures set out, that any e-mail address you provide to the credit union is accurate, that you will promptly notify the credit union of any change in your e-mail address in the manner prescribed in the security methods, that you have a computer that meets the minimum system requirements set out in the agreement, and that you have a printer or have access to a printer with the ability to download information in order to keep copies of your statements for your records.
The minimum requirements for e-statement are:
– Processor Speed: 486 or higher
– Modem Speed: 28.8 Kbps or higher
– Monitor Size: Any size, 800×600 resolution or higher
– Memory Size: 16MB or higher
– Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or greater

Debit Card Transaction Agreement and Disclosure
This Debit Card Agreement is the contract which covers your and our rights and responsibilities concerning the debit card services offered to you by University of Illinois Community Credit Union (“Credit Union”). In this Agreement, the words “you” and “yours” mean those who sign the application or account card as applicants, joint owners, or any authorized users. The words “we,” “us,” and “our” mean the Credit Union. The word “account” means any one or more share and share draft accounts you have with the Credit Union. Debit Card transactions are electronically initiated transfers of money from your account through the Debit Card services described below. By signing an application or account card for Debit Card services, signing your Card, or using any service, each of you, jointly and severally, agree to the terms and conditions in this Agreement and any amendments for the Debit Card services offered.
- U of I Community Credit Union Cash and Check Card (Debit Card).
If approved, you may use your Card to purchase goods and services from participating merchants. You agree that you will not use your card for any transaction that is illegal under applicable federal, state, or local law. Funds to cover your Card purchases will be deducted from your share draft account. If the balance in your account is not sufficient to pay the transaction amount, the credit union will pay the amount and treat the transaction as a request to transfer funds from other deposit accounts, approved overdraft protection accounts or loan accounts that you have established with the Credit Union. If you initiate a transaction that overdraws your Account, you agree to make immediate payment of any overdrafts together with any service charges to the Credit Union. In the event of repeated overdrafts, the Credit Union may terminate all services under this Agreement. You may use your Card and PIN (Personal Identification Number) in automated teller machines of the Credit Union, STAR, CO-OP Network, The Exchange, Member Access, and such other machines, networks or facilities as the Credit Union may designate. At the present time, you may also use your Card to:
- Make deposits to your share and share draft accounts.
• Withdraw funds from your share and share draft accounts.
• Transfer funds from your share and share draft accounts.
• Obtain balance inquires on your share and share draft accounts.
• Make POS (Point-of-Sale) transactions with your Card and PIN (Personal Identification Number) to purchase goods or services at merchants everywhere VISA debit cards are accepted.
• Order goods or services by mail, telephone or internet everywhere VISA debit cards are accepted.
The following limitations on the frequency and amount of U of I Community Credit Union Cash and Check Card transactions may apply:
- There is no limit on the number of U of I Community Credit Union Cash and Check Card purchases you make per day.
• Purchase amounts are limited to the amount available to your account.
• You may purchase up to a maximum of $2000.00 per day.
• There is no limit to the number of cash withdrawals you may make in any one day from an ATM machine.
• You may withdraw up to a maximum of $500.00 in any one day from an ATM machine, if there are sufficient funds in your account.
• You may transfer up to the available balance in your accounts at the time of the transfer.
• POS purchases limited to $2000.00 per day.
- Conditions of EFT Services.
- Ownership of Cards. Any Card or other device which we supply to you is our property and must be returned to us, or to any person whom we authorize to act as our agent, or to any person who is authorized to honor the Card, immediately according to instructions. The Card may be repossessed at any time at our sole discretion without demand or notice. You cannot transfer your Card or account to another person.
- Honoring the Card. Neither we nor merchants authorized to honor the Card will be responsible for the failure or refusal to honor the Card or any other device we supply to you. If a merchant agrees to give you a refund or adjustment, you agree to accept a credit to your account in lieu of a cash refund.
- Security of Access Code. You may use one or more access codes with your electronic funds transfers. The access codes issued to you are for your security purposes. Any codes issued to you are confidential and should not be disclosed to third parties or recorded on or with the Card. You are responsible for safekeeping your access codes. You agree not to disclose or otherwise make your access codes available to anyone not authorized to sign on your accounts. If you authorize anyone to use your access codes, that authority shall continue until you specifically revoke such authority by notifying the Credit Union. You understand that any joint owner you authorize to use an access code may withdraw or transfer funds from any of your accounts. If you fail to maintain the security of these access codes and the Credit Union suffers a loss, we may terminate your EFT services immediately.
- Joint Accounts. If any of your accounts accessed under this Agreement are joint accounts, all joint owners, including any authorized users, shall be bound by this Agreement and, alone and together, shall be responsible for all EFT transactions to or from any share and share draft or loan accounts as provided in this Agreement. Each joint account owner, without the consent of any other account owner, may, and hereby is authorized by every other joint account owner to, make any transaction permitted under this Agreement. Each joint account owner is authorized to act for the other account owners, and the Credit Union may accept orders and instructions regarding any EFT transaction on any account from any joint account owner.
- Foreign Transaction. The exchange rate for transactions in a foreign currency will be a rate selected by Visa from the range of rates available in wholesale currency markets for the applicable central processing date, which rate may vary from the rate Visa itself receives, or the government-mandated rate in effect for the applicable central processing date, plus the 1% International Service Assessment (ISA) transaction fee.
- Fees and Charges.
There are certain fees and charges for electronic funds transfer services. From time to time, the charges may be changed. We will notify you of any changes as required by applicable law. When using ATMs not owned by us, you may be assessed a fee. Such fees are imposed by the ATM owner, not your credit union. If you use an ATM that is not operated by us, you may be charged a fee by the ATM operator and by any national, regional, or local network used in processing the transaction. The ATM surcharge will be debited from your account if you elect to complete the transaction.
- $1.00 charge for ATM withdrawals at machines we do not own (non-proprietary).
• $1.00 charge for Point of Sale (POS) Terminal Transactions.
• Annual card fee of $5.00. (if applicable)
• Replacement card fee of $15.00 per card.
- Member Liability.
You are responsible for all EFT transfers you authorize. If you permit someone else to use an EFT service, your Card or your access code you are responsible for any transactions they authorize or conduct on any of your accounts. However, tell us at once if you believe your Card has been lost or stolen or if you believe someone has used your Card or access code or otherwise accessed your accounts without your authority. Telephoning is the best way of keeping your possible losses down. Tell us AT ONCE if you believe your card has been lost or stolen. You could lose all the money in your account (plus your maximum overdraft line of credit). If a transaction was made with your Card or Card number without your permission, and is either a VISA or Interlink transaction, you will have no liability for the transaction. For all other EFT transactions, including ATM transactions, your liability for an unauthorized transaction is determined as follows. If you tell us within two (2) business days, you can lose no more than $50 if someone used your Card without your permission. If you do NOT tell us within two (2) business days after you learn of the loss or theft of your Card, and we can prove we could have stopped someone from using your Card without your permission if you had told us, you could lose as much as $500.00.
Also, if your statement shows transfers that you did not make, tell us at once. If you do not tell us within sixty (60) days after the statement was mailed to you, you may not get back any money lost after the sixty (60) days if we can prove that we could have stopped someone from taking the money if you had told us in time. If a good reason (such as a hospital stay) kept you from telling us, we will extend the time periods.

- Right to Receive Documentation.
- Periodic Statements. Transfers and withdrawals made through any ATM or Debit Card transaction will be recorded on your periodic statement. You will receive a statement monthly unless there is no transaction in a particular month. In any case, you will receive a statement at least quarterly.
- Terminal Receipt. You will get a receipt at the time you make any transaction (except inquiries) involving your account using an ATM, POS terminal, or Debit Card transaction with a participating merchant.
- Account Information Disclosure.
We will disclose information to third parties about your account or the transfers you make:
- As necessary to complete transfers;
• To verify the existence of sufficient funds to cover specific transactions upon the request of a third party, such as a credit bureau or merchant;
• To comply with government agency or court orders; or
• If you give us your written permission.
- Business Days.
Our business days are Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
- Credit Union Liability for Failure to Make Transfers.
If we do not complete a transfer to or from your account on time or in the correct amount according to our agreement with you, we may be liable for your losses or damages proximately caused by our error. However, we will not be liable for direct or consequential damages in the following events:
- Liability for Direct or Consequential Damages.
• If, through no fault of ours, there is not enough money in your accounts to complete the transaction, if any funds in your accounts necessary to complete the transaction are held as uncollected funds or pursuant to our Funds Availability Policy, or if the transaction involves a loan request exceeding your credit limit.
• For preauthorized transfers, if through no fault of the Credit Union, the payment information for a preauthorized transfer is not received.
• If you used your Card or access code in an incorrect manner.
• If the ATM where you are making the transfer does not have enough cash.
• If the ATM was not working properly and you knew about the problem when you started the transaction.
• If acts of God (such as fire, flood, or power failure) prevent the transaction.
• If the money in your account is subject to legal process or other claim.
• If funds in your account are pledged as collateral subject to our lien or frozen because of a delinquent loan.
• If the error was caused by a system of any participating ATM network.
• If any circumstances beyond our control (such as your willful or negligent use of your Card, access code, or any EFT facility for making such transfers) prevent the transaction.
• Any other exceptions as established by the Credit Union.
All notices from us will be effective when we have mailed them or delivered them to your last known address in the Credit Union’s records. Notices from you will be effective when received by the Credit Union at the address specified in this Agreement. We reserve the right to change the terms and conditions upon which this service is offered. We will mail notice to you at least twenty-one (21) days before the effective date of any change. Use of this service is subject to existing regulations governing the Credit Union account and any future changes to those regulations.
The following information is a list of safety precautions regarding the use of Automated Teller Machines (ATM) and Night Deposit Facilities.
• Be aware of your surroundings, particularly at night.
• Consider having someone accompany you when the ATM or night deposit facility is used after dark.
• If another person is uncomfortably close to you at the time of your transaction, ask the person to step back before you complete your transaction.
• Refrain from displaying your cash at the ATM or night deposit facility. As soon as your transaction is completed, place your money in your purse or wallet. Count the cash later in the safety of your car or home.
• If you notice anything suspicious at the ATM or night deposit facility, consider using another ATM or night deposit facility or coming back later.
• If you are in the middle of a transaction and you notice something suspicious, cancel the transaction, take your Card or deposit envelope, and leave.
• If you are followed after making a transaction, go to the nearest public area where people are located.
• Do not write your personal identification number or code on your ATM Card.
• Report all crimes to law enforcement officials immediately.
- Billing Errors.
In case of errors or questions about electronic funds transfers from your share and share draft accounts, telephone us at the following number or send us a written notice to the following address as soon as you can. We must hear from you no later than sixty (60) days after we sent the first statement on which the problem appears,

- Tell us your name and account number.
• Describe the electronic transfer you are unsure about, and explain as clearly as you can why you believe the Credit Union has made an error or why you need more information.
• Tell us the dollar amount of the suspected error.
If you tell us orally, we may require that you send us your complaint or question in writing within ten (10) business days.
We will tell you the results of our investigation within ten (10) business days after we hear from you and will correct any error promptly. If we need more time, however, we may take up to forty-five (45) days to investigate your complaint or question. If we decide to do this, we will recredit your account within ten (10) business days (five (5) business days for VISA Debit Card purchases) for the amount you think is in error, so that you will have the use of the money during the time it takes us to complete our investigation. If we ask you to put your complaint or question in writing and we do not receive it within ten (10) business days, we may not recredit your account.
For transactions initiated outside the United States or in the event there are transfers resulting from a point-of-sale transaction, we will have twenty (20) business days instead of ten (10) business days, and ninety (90) calendar days instead of forty-five (45) calendar days, unless otherwise required by law, to investigate your complaint or question. If we decide after our investigation that an error did not occur, we will deliver or mail to you an explanation of our findings within three (3) business days after the conclusion of our investigation. If you request, we will provide you copies of documents (to the extent possible without violating other members’ rights to privacy) relied upon to conclude that the error did not occur.
- Termination of EFT Services.
You may terminate this Agreement or any EFT service under this Agreement at any time by notifying us in writing and stopping your use of your Card and any access code. You must return all Cards to the Credit Union. You also agree to notify any participating merchants that authority to make bill payment transfers has been revoked. We may also terminate this Agreement at any time by notifying you orally or in writing. If we terminate this Agreement, we may notify any participating merchants making preauthorized debits or credits to any of your accounts that this Agreement has been terminated and that we will not accept any further preauthorized transaction instructions. We may also program our computer not to accept your Card or access code for any EFT service. Whether you or the Credit Union terminates this Agreement, the termination shall not affect your obligations under this Agreement for any EFTs made prior to termination.
- Governing Law.
This Agreement is governed by the Bylaws of the Credit Union, federal laws and regulations, the laws and regulations of the state of Illinois and local clearinghouse rules, as amended from time to time. Any disputes regarding this Agreement shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the court of the county in which the Credit Union is located.
In the event either party brings a legal action to enforce the Agreement or collect any overdrawn funds on accounts accessed under this Agreement, the prevailing party shall be entitled, subject to applicable law, to payment by the other party of its reasonable attorney’s fees and costs, including fees on any appeal, bankruptcy proceedings, and any post-judgment collection actions, if applicable. If there is a lawsuit, you agree that it may be filed and heard in the county and state in which the Credit Union is located, if allowed by applicable law.

- Mobile Wallet Terms and Conditions These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) apply when you choose to add a UICCU credit card or debit card (“UICCU Card”) to a Mobile Wallet Service. In these Terms, “you”, “your”, “their”, and “my” refer to the cardholder of the UICCU Card, and “we,” “us,” “our,” and “UICCU” refer to the issuer of your UICCU Card. By selecting the check box entitled “I have read, and I understand and agree to the UICCU Mobile Wallet Service Terms and Conditions,” you agree to all terms, conditions, and notices contained or referenced in these Terms and you are providing your express consent.
- What is a Mobile Wallet Service? A Mobile Wallet Service (“Wallet”) allows you to add your UICCU Cards to an application using your Mobile Device. Your UICCU Card number is replaced with a digital number or token. Once added, you understand that you may use your Mobile Device to make payments only where the Wallet is accepted. UICCU is not a provider of the Wallet and we are not responsible for any failure or inability to perform a transaction using the Wallet. We are only responsible for supplying information securely to the Wallet provider to allow usage of the UICCU Card in the Wallet.
- Eligibility Active UICCU Card accounts that are in good standing are eligible to be added to a Wallet. If your UICCU Card or any underlying (UICCU) account becomes delinquent, is in a negative status or is otherwise maintained in an unsafe manner as determined by UICCU in its sole discretion, your UICCU Card may be removed by UICCU from the Wallet for continued use.
- Relationship to Other Agreements You agree that when you add your (UICCU) Card to a Wallet service, your UICCU Card and account will remain subject to the terms and conditions of all existing agreements with UICCU. You acknowledge that certain message and data rates may apply from your wireless service providers and/or wireless carriers which might impact your use of the Wallet. For example, your mobile service carrier or provider may impose data usage or text charges for your use of or interaction with the Wallet, including downloading the software, receiving or sending text messages, or other use of your mobile device when using the software or other products and services provided by the Wallet. You expressly agree that you are responsible for all such fees, limitations, and restrictions and that we may contact you via your mobile device for any purpose concerning your accounts at UICCU, including account servicing and collection purposes.
- Account Ownership/Accurate Information You represent that you are the legal owner of the account and other financial information which may be accessed via the Wallet. You represent and agree that all information you provide in connection with the Wallet is accurate, current, and complete, and that you have the right to provide such information to us for the purpose of operating the Wallet. You agree not to misrepresent your identity or your account information.
You agree to take every precaution to ensure the safety, security and integrity of your account and transactions when using the Wallet.
We may in some cases make individually identifying information available only in the following circumstances: where ordered by a court or other legal body or where it is lawfully permitted or required; where we have agreed to provide information under contracts to vendors and partners to make products and services available to our members; or where the member has requested or consents to the disclosure of information. In those cases where we disclose information to outside vendors, we require that they use it for no purposes other than providing previously specified services to our members.
- Changes in these Terms and Conditions Except as otherwise required by law, UICCU may in its sole discretion change these terms, and modify or cancel the eligibility to use your UICCU Card with a Wallet service at any time, without notice. You cannot change these terms but you can terminate them by removing your UICCU Card(s) from the Wallet. UICCU reserves the right to refuse any transaction for any reason.
- Exclusion of Warranties; Limitation of Liability; Indemnification
YOU EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF A MOBILE WALLET SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. ANY MATERIAL DOWNLOADED OR OTHERWISE OBTAINED THROUGH THE USE OF THE WALLET IS OBTAINED AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION AND RISK, AND UICCU IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR MOBILE DEVICE OR LOSS OF DATA THAT RESULTS FROM THE DOWNLOAD OF ANY SUCH MATERIAL, WHETHER DUE TO ANY COMPUTER VIRUS OR OTHERWISE. UICCU MAKES NO REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY AS TO THE COMPLETENESS, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR CURRENCY OF ANY INFORMATION OR DATA THAT YOU OBTAIN THROUGH THE USE OF A WALLET.
Identity Verification Notice
If you are an existing member who joined the credit union before the USA Patriot Act rules became effective we may also need to verify and retain copies of any documents used to verify your identity when you request a new deposit account, apply for a loan or are added as a signatory to a new or existing deposit or loan account.

U of I Community Credit Union collects information about members in many ways. Information is provided by members on applications for membership, accounts, loans, and a variety of other products and services. Information is also provided with requests for transactions of many kinds. U of I Community Credit Union also receives information when processing member transactions such as clearing checks, ACH transfers, debit transactions, and more. Members also provide information in response to questions posed by the Credit Union or in their correspondence to the Credit Union. All member information collected is considered nonpublic personal information and is subject to the confidentiality provisions of this policy.
- Confidentiality and Security of Member Information
U of I Community Credit Union will undertake reasonable measures to protect the confidentiality and security of member information. Physical security of documents, restricted access to information, and proper handling of information form the basis of the credit union’s procedures.
U of I Community Credit Union employees will verify members’ identity before releasing information or processing transactions for members.
Employees will also maintain control and security of documents that contain member information. After processing, documents with nonpublic personal information will be properly filed or will be designated for shredding.
Employees are allowed access to members’ information as needed to fulfill members’ requests or conduct credit union business as may be appropriate.
The Credit Union maintains physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect member information.
Providing nonpublic personal information to nonaffiliated third parties.
U of I Community Credit Union does not provide nonpublic personal information to nonaffiliated third parties.
Credit Union Affiliates
U of I Community Credit Union may share information with another company that is controlled by the Credit Union. Credit Union control is defined as ownership of the power to vote at least 25% of the outstanding shares; control in any manner over the election of a majority of the directors; or the power to exercise a controlling influence of the company (in cases of Credit Union Service Organizations (CUSO), the CUSO must be 67% owned by credit unions).
Agreements with Others: Financial Institutions, Service Providers, Third Parties to process members’ request.
U of I Community Credit Union may enter into joint marketing agreements with other financial institutions as defined by the GLB Act. Various products and services may be offered under these agreements.
U of I Community Credit Union may also enlist firms or individuals to provide service for or market on behalf of the credit union. These service providers are authorized to assist the Credit Union in marketing its products and services.
U of I Community Credit Union may also utilize third party processors, information providers, and service providers as needed to facilitate the requests of members to provide Credit Union services.
In any arrangement with parties as named above, the Credit Union will require agreements that protect the confidentiality of any nonpublic personal information. The agreement will also prohibit the use of information for any purpose except to the extent necessary to perform, effect, administer or enforce any transactions or services requested by the Credit Union or its members. Furthermore, the agreement will also prohibit the re-use of any information in any manner.
All contracts entered into after July 1, 2000 will contain clauses as referenced above. By July 1, 2002, all Credit Union contracts will be revised to include clauses as referenced above.
Sharing of Information in Other Circumstances
The Credit Union may disclose nonpublic personal information as allowed as exceptions in the regulation. Nonpublic personal information will be shared in appropriate situations to the extent permitted by law. Examples of these situations includes, but is not limited to:
- With the consent of or at the direction of a member.
- To protect the confidentiality of security of our records pertaining to the member, service, product, or transaction.
- To the extent specifically permitted or required under other provisions of law and in accordance with the Right to Financial Privacy Act of 1978, to law enforcement agencies, and others as provided for by the regulation.
- To a consumer reporting agency in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
In connection with a proposed or actual sale, merger, transfer, or exchange of all or a portion of a business or operating unit.
- To comply with federal, state, or local laws, rules and other applicable legal requirements.
With others who request credit references in accordance with customary business practices.
With regulatory agencies or auditors as required and allowed.
U of I Community Credit Union prohibits its employees from obtaining, attempting to obtain, or causing to be disclosed, member financial information relative to another person by use of false or fraudulent practices. These practices include: (1) Making a false statement to an officer or agent of a financial institution, (2) making a false statement to a customer of a financial institution, or (3) providing, to an officer or agent of a financial institution, a document that person knows is false, stolen, fraudulently obtained, or contains a false representation.
Inquiries made to the credit union shall require the verification of the identity of the requesting party, a determination of the reasons information is being requested, and a determination of the authorization of the member to disclose the information. Authorization by the member may include the issuance of a check, an application for credit, an express authorization for verification, or other means that may be deemed reasonable.
Employees are trained to respect members’ privacy through compliance with the Credit Union’s policies and procedures. Failure to comply will subject employees to disciplinary action.
Security of Technology
Online services are delivered under the security measures that are described in U of I Community Credit Union’s I-Branch Security Statement. This environment includes measures including data encryption, authentication, password requirements, and profile controls such as timed logoffs.
Regular non-encrypted Internet email is not secure. In the instances where U of I Community Credit Union Internet email addresses are provided, these are provided for information inquiries of a non-sensitive and non-confidential nature. U of I Community Credit Union will not include confidential account information in an email response. Messages sent through U of I Community Credit Union’s I-Branch are secure and use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption.
U of I Community Credit Union uses “cookies” as part of our interaction with members’ browsers when accessing our website or I-Branch. These cookies do not collect personally identifiable information, and we do not combine information collected through cookies with other personal information to determine members’ identities.
Children’s Online Privacy
U of I Community Credit Union does not knowingly solicit data from children under 13, and we do not knowingly market to children. Our website section devoted to youth, “Googolplex,” is provided through CUNA, and includes a full disclosure regarding compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
